XIE- Cyber Security Cell

Establishment of Cyber Security Cell we have to adopt a holistic approach towards cyber security environment conducive for growth of the practice to extend support to academia with industry collaboration. In order to effectively ensure our continued technical advantage and future of cyber security, we need technologically skilled and cyber savvy students and teachers. Our government has identified ‘Cyber security’ as one of the most serious economic and national security challenges we face as a nation and has ear-marked cyber security education as a major part of its Comprehensive National Cyber Security Initiative. By establishing a Cyber Security Cell, we will be well positioned to train and educate students on this very important National initiative. In addition, we will be providing our students with the skill-sets necessary to become a member of the CSC.

Mission

  • To create awareness about cyber attacks and security by conducting workshops, seminars and training programs for the students.
  • To provide students the knowledge of cyber security with related technical skills to assess various vulnerabilities with prevention mechanisms in real-life case studies from industry.
  • To establish ourselves in the position of leadership in cyber security by applying social and professional ethics of cyber security, thus creating lasting and positive impact on our community.

Objectives

  • To provide training about cyber security to schools, colleges, police and government sectors.
  • To work on real time crime cases.
  • To provide solutions to cyber crimes through “Cyber Security Cell”.

Outcomes

  • Exposure of students and faculty to recent trends in Cyber Crimes and their solutions.
  • Increase in knowledge base of students and faculty. Create our own expertise in the associated field.
  • Sending students for internship in the cyber security industry and work on real-life problem statements from the industry.

  • Value Added Course on Digital Security Standard Operations from July 03-07, 2023 with giving the orientation about "Cyber Security Cell" to all students.

  • Seminar on Recent tools and Technologies of Cyber Security
  • Training Sessions on Innovations in Offensive Security

Initiatives

  • Guidance to our student research projects whose interests align with the Cyber Security area.
  • Motivate students by assigning projects in the concerned area. Also provide the problem statements to the students by collaborating with industry professionals.
  • Increase exposure of our students in the research area of Cyber Security by providing information and guidance about presenting and publishing papers in good impact factor conferences and journals. Also provide information about different webinars, training sessions, and competitions.
  • Approach industry experts and academicians to be a part of the advisory board of the cell.
  • Newsletter of "Cyber Security Cell".
